The included smart plug is manufactured by a third party and operates independently from the Balvolt™ lighting system.
Installation Overview
Balvolt™ is designed as a plug-in lighting system and does not require hard-wiring when installed as directed. Keep all components unplugged until mounting is fully complete. Professional installation and a two-person setup are recommended for safety and alignment.
- Organize the layout on the floor
Following the layout guide, arrange all parts on the ground to match the intended design before mounting. Do not fully secure connector joints at this stage. Ensure each tube’s lettering and directional arrows align with the instructions — incorrect orientation may limit color functionality. - Plan your placement carefully
Use a laser or bubble level to establish reference lines before mounting. Plan around garage door tracks, openers, ceiling fixtures, and other obstructions, as this stage typically requires the most adjustment to achieve a clean layout.
Before drilling, verify the mounting area is clear of concealed wiring, plumbing, or other utilities. If you are unsure what may be behind a surface, consult a qualified professional. - Mount the outer frame
Install components sequentially using the pattern connector → hex tube → connector, working gradually around the perimeter. Check alignment frequently to maintain consistent spacing and level placement. - Mount the inner hex lights
Assemble smaller hex sections with one open side, then secure them to the mounted frame using the same connector sequence. Minor positioning adjustments are possible during early placement, but movement becomes more limited as drywall anchors and screws are installed, so confirm alignment before fully tightening mounts. - Mount and configure the power supply
Plan cable routing before securing the power supply. Install it on the side indicated in the instructions to maintain proper system orientation.
Before applying power, verify the voltage selector is set to 115V for standard U.S. outlets. Using an incorrect voltage setting may damage the system and create a safety risk. Always confirm the selector position prior to powering on. - Connect power and accessories
Once mounting is complete, connect the power supply and optional third-party accessories to your outlet. Use the included zip ties to secure loose cables and maintain clean routing. - Control the lighting
Use the included remote controller or compatible mobile app to adjust brightness, colors, and animation modes.
Troubleshooting Tip
If a section remains white while using color modes, one or more tubes may be oriented incorrectly. Power off the system, check directional markings, and reinstall as needed. Extra tubes and connectors are included to help accommodate accidental damage or installation mishaps so the layout can be completed without interruption.

The Balvolt™ hex light kit spans approximately 8 ft by 15.9 ft (2435 mm × 4845 mm), designed to illuminate a standard single-car bay with broad, uniform coverage. Exact visual footprint may vary slightly depending on mounting position and installation method.
3-Year Limited Warranty
Covers defects in materials and workmanship under normal residential use. If a covered defect occurs within 3 years, Balvolt™ will repair or replace the affected component in accordance with our Warranty Policy. Does not cover damage resulting from improper installation, misuse, modification, or normal cosmetic wear. Proof of purchase required.

Orders are typically processed within 1 business day from our U.S. warehouse. Standard delivery generally ranges from 2–5 business days, depending on location and carrier performance. Tracking details are provided once the shipment is accepted by the carrier. All orders ship Signature Required.
↩️ 30-Day Returns
Returns are accepted within 30 days of delivery for unused products in original packaging. To request a return, email support@balvolt.com with your order number. Return shipping costs are the buyer’s responsibility unless the item is verified defective.
🔁 Replacement for Verified Defects
If a manufacturing defect is confirmed, replacement is provided under the terms of the limited warranty.
